Welcome

Welcome to this special blog which documents the work that I have done as a Scholar-in-Residence in Scarsdale Public Schools, New York in 2008/2009 academic year. The program aims at enriching the district-wide effort in preparing students to be successful global citizens in an interdependent world. My main curriculum emphasis lies in the effort to develop the intercultural understanding, to nurture the ability to empathy, and to break stereotypes and prejudices. At the beginning I developed some initial lesson ideas, which later grew in many different directions as I discussed and collaborated with different teachers at different grades. In general my work includes a great variety of activities in K-12 classrooms ranging from social studies, art, music, physical education, and library lessons. In addition, I also gave a couple of teacher workshops and was involved in a few PTA activities. Please read the activities in the postings on this blog. Feel free to respond to any of the postings. And most importantly, thank you very much for visiting this blog.
